Anyone use this last year? The price is cheaper than cable for a month so with no cable, this is my only missing element. How is it in a local market such as Buffalo? If they are home, can you still watch them or do they get blacked out?
Curious if this is a good alternative of have cable companies blocked using this in markets where there is a team already and more for people who live outside where their favorite team plays?
oh this is interesting because I dont have cable right now and probably wont for a while, would this work with NFL Game pass which is only available outside the US?
I ran my own VPN company for a while which launched my own tunnel with guaranteed bandwidth but just for streaming services so probably will spin up some machines for tunnels for this then. I wanted to confirm they use IP so if you are out of the area, you can still access it and wasn’t tied to something stupid like billing address.
My refresh rate from my computer to my tv kind of sucks, (mini-dvi to hdmi) I used to have gamecenter live. Ps3 is much better. Can I get local games with gamecenter live on my playstation?
When I had it my billing address was Williamsville. Blocked when not using VPN, worked fine when using VPN. They definitely use IP location. Verified by picking a Chicago VPN server and getting the local block error trying to watch a Blackhawks home game.
As for SwitchVPN vs some other one, do some research. I did this 3 years ago and SwitchVPN was a good cheap option then. I wouldn’t doubt there is more competition now.
720p usually is about 2Megabits per second. Go to YouTube and steam 720p videos and see how it functions. You also need to make sure you have a VPN that supports the speeds. I am actually working on building a VPN provider for this purpose.
