This weekend was the NMCA/LSX Shootout in Norwalk, Ohio, which is Summit Motorsports Park. There were a ton of cars with a bunch of special classes added such as a Ford Cobra Jet Showdown. I figured I’d head down just to have a little fun since the race is so freakin close to us. I got there in 3hours 38mins, from Tonawanda. No stopping, and used a little less than 3/4’s of a tank. I entered True Street which consists of a 30 mile cruise, then 3 back-to-back passes without touching your car (other than air pressure). If you pop your hood you are DQ’d, can’t do the cruise you get DQ’d, or can’t complete all 3 passes, you get the boot. There were 65 cars total, and everyone made the cruise that I saw. I’d say about 5 or 6 dropped out during the passes. One of them was my friend Jay, that some of you guys know with the ProCharged red Z28. The facility is easily the best track i’ve ever been to, not that i’ve been to a lot of national tracks, but it blows away Cecil, and Beech Bend. The place is enormous and spotlessly clean. All of the workers have professional shirts, even the kids working the concession stands. Just a top notch operation in every way. The grandstands look brand new and can probably seat 10,000+.

They have a bunch of track photographers all over the place. Instead of posting small pictures of your car and HOPING you’ll go over to their stand to check them out and purchase them, they make a plaque of all of the cars and then walk right over to your car and ask if you want to purchase them. I’m sure they get way more sales this way. I think it came out awesome!
