No option to display full sized pictures

I noticed something when I was trying to link a high resolution picture in the mars rovers thread. When you post an image with IMG tags the forum auto-scales it to fit in your browser. Other forums I’m on will do this but will also give you the option to click on the image to see the original size. Any way to turn on that option here?

Example:

^ That’s 3008x2000. The only way you can see the full image (at least in Chrome and IE) is to copy the image link from NYSpeed and paste into a new browser window.

An example of what I’m talking about:

Post #4. Each image has a message “This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image.”

We can install that. The resize that is in place is just a simple code change to prevent abuse.

I like that it doesn’t post full res. Not sure if there is something similar to LightBox, but that works well on wordpress.

There is a light box option out there… I will have to look into the options and see what integrates the smoothest. We put in the restriction after there was a hugemoon.jpg war occurring.

Yeah you can thank moon.jpg for the re-size mod. There are better versions of the mod out there though like you said.

I tend to agree with the initial change, It’s really annoying when you’re on a screen with a small res and all the sudden you have to scroll 6 ways from tuesday to see anything. However, I also agree it would be awesome if you click and view the full size.

So yeah, just seconding the sentiments of others.

I thought it was from “The large thing that NASA has” that was a huge pic of outer space and if you scrolled down for about 10 years there was a goatse at the bottom.
