I think I was racing you at the time in my neon. When I heard your turbo spool you took off like a rocket.
i ran a best of 13.04@ 111mph and a 2.2 60ft on stock tires and im pretty sure my clutch is fucked

i ran ugoslow the one night and tried shifting it myself and i bounced off the limiter like crazy and i shifted it right as i goosed it b/c it takes a second for it to grab in 2nd and it still hit the limiter and wouldnt let me shift into 2nd til i let off the gas…so i figured rather than hitting the limiter at the track and running shit times id let the DRIVE magic happen lol…how much time could i shave from shifting myself tho?
EDIT: i figured it wasnt too good to shift it yourself ive heard stories of people killing their tranny’s…thanks LZ :tup:
i know tires and a clutch (plus more track experience= low 12s that was the second time ever to the track)
When you shift it by hand…The line line pressure isn’t up between gear shifts and it burns out the clutches…I changed the tranny fluid once or twice a year btw…thats why the tranny still shifts good and you know what the mileage is…

Wow, 120 is flying with that ET. I ran 11.79 @ 114mph! Nice big end power. Gotta make it next time. I want to run at lancaster a few times to sort out my new combo. If I break, at least I’m close to home.
I’ve never had a tranny problem, but all my trannys are built for drag racing.
I guess it all comes down to when you shift it.
I’ve never driven anything with a rev limiter but my grand am, and I even shifter that right before the rev limiter, Tho i did hit it 3 times on 37runs at lancaster.
Maybe the turbo 350s and glides are different that the newer transmissions.

A phone call with that info would have been nice Been driving myself crazy wondering if I was going to get that thing. If I offer to pay off the whole loan that seal the deal (tax refund in and I can swing it)? If not I’m gonna make a move with the money somewhere else, just got to find that somewhere else, I’m tired of the best I can achieve and get to work is the 13’s.
