NYSpeed bikes past and present

There’s one in Toronto and one in Ohio i believe

don’t forget cayuga, dunnville, beaverun, etc

Beaverun, mid-ohio, mosport, cayuga, there is more in PA too.

thanks guys.

Which one would you recommend for beginner courses?

the 198. lol

you’re comfortable riding otherwise, just first time on the track?

I’d say dunville or cayuga. slower speeds, technical tight turns to get you acclimated

They will all have a novice class but the instruction may be slightly different from track to track. Either one you do will be good.

I can ride, no holy shit look at that guy!, but I can ride.

I just heard a track day greatly increases your skills, so I wanted to go to one.

It certainly helps. It’s amazing how much more confident you feel after having a track day.

How much does a day usually run? and what does it consist of?

novice = instruction and track time.

cost 150-250 ish… per day… plus 30 dollar membership fee, plus all your gear, and water wetter and misc bike setup stuff…

it can be done for cheaper, but for your first day STT is hard to beat.

team promotion
nesba
etc etc… are other options too.

I think it depends on the place. But usually around $200-250. That’s just for the track day itself. You also need to have full leathers, boots, gloves, and have your bike go through tech. (in novice nothing needs to change, just street ready)

There on rotating sessions throughout the day, so you have 7 or 8 sessions of 15 minutes on the track. (which is plenty) And for the novice guys they have a class session in b/w track sessions to show techniques and give a thorough lesson on different aspects of riding each session. It’s very useful information ranging from throttle control to where your body should be and when.

And that’s pretty much it. Each session gets faster and faster but within novice are sub-groups with an instructor for each sub-group who operate on different speeds. So if you need to slow down, step back into the lower group, or vice versa.

It’s a good system and I think every biker should have to do it.

EDIT - my explanation is WAAAAAY better than Will’s.

true. im lazy. and i dont run novice :-p

wow, thanks!

I have to save up for a 1 piece leather. I have a jacket, gloves, boots, but no pants yet.

Hopefully by the end of this season, Ill have a track day under my belt.

what are you riding again?

02 gsxr 600

woord, do it up. you wont regret it. now if we can only get brett back on a bike and to the track day :-/

do the nyspeed members meet up and ride? or just go there own way…

at a track day? just ride, its not a race, which is what tends to happen when friends get with each other…

Nobody is there to win, so I tend to do my own thing, If you have lap timers itd be fun to compare times, but in my experience we show up together and do our own thing. Ive seen a couple of the advanced guys battle pretty hard though.
