when putting a stock cat on my car today my secondary o2 sensor stripped and broke off in my test pipe when trying to remove it. Im pretty broke right now so the cheaper the better please post up what you have
car is an 03 acura RSX im pretty sure all honda acura o2 sensors are the same. Need to get one asap
even if you don’t know how to solder, i’ve seen someone just strip/twist/tape the wires… lol i don’t recommend it, but it held up for that person for 2 years or so.
NO. you heat up the wire on one side and when its hot you touch the solder from the OPPOSITE side of the heat source. that way the solder is pulled through the wire making a good connection. Solder isnt really a structural mechanism, meaning you should twist the wires in such a way that provides a good connection physically. What I was taught is you cross the wires in the middle at 90 degrees to each other making an X with the stripped ends of wire. then you cross each end onto the other side. done right you should be able to pull slightly and have it hold before you solder it.
dont forget to put heat shrink on BEFORE soldering, let it cool before sliding it over, and make sure you twist the wire onto itself so its smooth; if you use a tight heat shrink and you have a little barb sticking up the heat shrink wont slide over the solder joint. if that happens you can use a pair of pliers to squish down the little barb before putting the heat shrink on. if you try to slide it over when its still hot and it gets caught it usually shrinks to the point where you cant slide it over the whole joint when you fix the barb, or the barb pokes a hole in the heat shrink.
you’ll figure it out. lol. I bet youtube has some decent how-to’s
hm that one looks just like the one I broke. Thanks for the info man I really appreciate it!. MY rsx is just a ghey base model and not a type s so it should work/. why the hell do local parts stores want 350$ for it when you can get it online for 30??
same reason y best buy sells a $100 hdmi cable. and you can get that online for $5. bc they can and people buy em bc its still cheaper than dealer prices
It’s just the price you pay for the ability to pick one up right away. The $300 price was probably for the primary O2 sensor, as that one is about $150-250 online…
The downstream one is about $80-100, it just can be found for much less due to it be very common.
checked fitment on denso’s site, thank you for the link and info the one you posted is the exact one I needed. I really appreciate it man got it for 50$ shipped in 2 days. for someone actually helping someone on here as opposed to stupid comments offering no help what so ever
fucking christ remind me to NEVER break an o2 sensor again, still dont have one.Now sparktec is dicking me around. I ordered it last weds so it should of been here yesterday. I emailed customer service and he said " sorry we were in las vegas for a semas show. I cant give you the ups 3 day select shipping you paid for because the sensor is special order, I can give you the priority 2-3 business days and ship it for free when its here".
I was like um well couldnt you have told me this the day I ordered it?? because I needed this thing as soon as possible.
anyone else have any ideas? I refuse to go to advance and pay $330 for a fucking o2 sensor
