^ Good read about the Massachusetts plan and it’s costs. It’s the same thing I’ve been saying all along about Obamacare; that the costs would quickly rocket past the conservative estimates he’s been telling people.
My question is what are the Republicans plan for the poor? Nothing.
I will put my faith in this plan, if it fails then it fails and you can say anything you want. But since the right has no plan to help the millions of Americans with rising healthcare or the millions of Americans without healthcare all together. I would rather try and fail then do nothing.
And when it comes down to which party screwed over the middles class the most the Republicans win hands down.
Overall, a GREAT election night for me, with some caveats.
-Democratic headquarters was rocking. Saw JoesTypeS there before I started reallly hammering the wine. (Which is currently kicking my ass) Many were moved to tears by Obama’s acceptance speech.
-Shame to see that my cousin Baby Joe couldn’t get in. He ran very strong in Erie County but there were just too many Genesee County hillbillies gerrymandered into the district, and he got his ass handed to him there. Look for him to start smaller with the Amherst Town Board or County Legislature, and work his way back up.
-Somehow, convicted felon Ted Stevens is leading by a tiny margin in the too close to call Alaska Senate race. If he wins, the Democrats will kick him out of the Senate in January and everyone’s favorite dumb moose hunting broad will appoint herself to replace him. Which means 4 years for her on the national stage in Washington and the Palin '12 signs will already start rolling off the printing presses. Shoot me now.
-We didn’t quite run up the margins in the House the way we could have, but it should be good enough that the most conservative Democrats won’t have to vote yes on everything to get it through.
-I really hope Al Franken comes out on top in the Minnesota race that they’re still counting and is currently ~600 votes apart. Norm Coleman is a douche and Al is hilarious, yet really smart politically. I’d look forward to some good sound bytes from him if he can pull it out.
-Overall, a great night for blue.
