Quick summary, since we’re apparently talking about who has shittier friends:
Obama worked on a positive community project. There was another guy working on the project who had done bad things in the past.
McCain and 4 other senators tried to intervene to get block the investigation of their friend Charles Keating’s corrupt Savings and Loan. Keating’s Lincoln Savings & Loan collapsed and took the life savings of many elderly with it.
So yeah, lets talk about which candidate associates with scum.
i like McCain
i like turtles
:word:
As long as you’re going to paint it so positively, let me quote the section you I guess didn’t bother reading.
The Senate Ethics Committee ruled that the involvement of Glenn in the scheme was minimal, and the charges against him were dropped.[45] He was only criticized by the Committee for “poor judgment.”[48]
The Ethics Committee ruled that the involvement of McCain in the scheme was also minimal, and he too was cleared of all charges against him.[46][45] McCain was criticized by the Committee for exercising “poor judgment” when he met with the federal regulators on Keating’s behalf.[7] The report also said that McCain’s “actions were not improper nor attended with gross negligence and did not reach the level of requiring institutional action against him…Senator McCain has violated no law of the United States or specific Rule of the United States Senate.”[49] On his Keating Five experience, McCain has said: “The appearance of it was wrong. It’s a wrong appearance when a group of senators appear in a meeting with a group of regulators, because it conveys the impression of undue and improper influence. And it was the wrong thing to do.”[7]
Regardless of the level of their involvement, both senators were greatly affected by it. McCain would write in 2002 that attending the two April 1987 meetings was “the worst mistake of my life”.[50] Glenn has described the Senate Ethics Committee investigation as the low point of his life.[8]
The Senate Ethics Committee did not pursue, for lack of jurisdiction, any possible ethics breaches in McCain’s delayed reimbursements to Keating for trips at the latter’s expense, because they occurred while McCain was in the House.[47] The House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct said that it too lacked jurisdiction, because McCain was no longer in the House.[51] It said it did not require that McCain amend his existing financial disclosure forms for his House years, on the grounds that McCain had now fully reimbursed Keating’s company.[51]
I respect him for saying it was the worst mistake of his life, something I’ve never heard Obama say regarding his past interactions with Ayers, including starting his political career with a fundraiser at Ayers home.
Yeah McCain saw the writing on the wall before the others so he got out before he got in trouble. Smart move on his part.
As for Obama’s terrorist connection:
Ayers contributed $200 dollars to Obama’s 2001 Illinois Senate campaign.
$200 dollars. I have shoes worth more than Ayer’s contribution to Obama’s political career.
^ I’m much more interested in Obama’s ties to Acorn than Ayers.
That does look sketchy. Sounds like ACORN needs to more tightly regulate what individuals in the organization.

I hope they don’t find Obama’s turbin and the copy of the Koran he swore in on inside a bible’s covers.
:tinfoilhat:
You can’t, but I never said the right made sense anyway.
Multiple news organizations already looked into this story and found nothing to even report on.
But I guess your sources must be better.
What do you really think Obama is going to do blow up the White House? What about the thousands of students who actually attended this guys classes should they all be suspected of terrorism?
Stop grasping at straws because you know you can’t win with the issues.
cmon Obama doesnt even know if he is an American. He “thinks” he was born in hawii. But doesn’t have a birth certificate to prove it.
lol I know. I was being sarcastic. It was something I heard people saying today. I think if that were true they would have unearthed that a long time ago. I do not support Obama in any way…just think its funny.
I do however find this interesting
wow jeg that was srsly so stupid
srsly.
what that obama is wasting tax dollars on his “truth squads”. Yeah that is very stupid I agree. “dont say anything against me or I’ll have you arrested for slander!..Vote for change!!”
the worst part is that you’re coherent politically compared to forthekicks
lol thanks I think.
