mets have an AL lineup in the NL. even if u put the mets’ (offense) into the AL, i’d still rate them top 5 offenses in all of baseball.
if the starters can hold it down for 5-6 innings, give it to the bullpen, and I really haev a hard time seeing the mets losing to anyone honestly.

whats ur reasons why they wont? i woudda thought they would’ve silenced the pitching critics with their sweep of a solid dodger’s lineup which was also touted as the hottest team in the NL going into the playoffs.
granted anything can happen, but i dunno why everyone’s sleeping on the mets. we have an amazing bullpen
their weak pitching staff, if they make it past the cards, will be completely worn out by WS time, and i just think tha As/Tigers will be too deep at that time
yeah I never really saw the dodgers as that big a threat…the cards on the other hand, now there is a hitting team. I would highly doubt they make it past them. But hey anything is possible

mets starters outside of glavine are questionable. Maine is good enough. Trachsel is fine, altho he tends to lose his control from time to time. #4 whoever it is, be it greg williams or oliver perez…well ok fine that’s a loss.
one thing i will guarantee is that willie will NOT wear out any specific pitcher - since we have great bullpen depth.
also, the cards are gonna get owned this series. first of all, they have no left handed starters, one of the few “weaknesses” in the mets Offense.
JEFF WEAVER (remember him yankee fans?) is starting game 1. Chris carpenter isn’t even available to pitch game 3, so i’ll give them that one. Mets in 4 if we’re lucky, if not (carpenter vs trax/perez/williams) we’ll go mets in 5. mark mulder u say? oh he’s out w/ injuries, SORRY CARDS!
2nd, outside of pujols, who can hit on that team lol? edmonds? he’s old & washed up. I’ll IBB pujols all day to get to edmonds, he is laughable as “protection” for pujouls. eckstein is out w/ some bs injuries too. rolen is questionable w/ his shoulder…Cards have anemic offense. ANEMIC.

But what if your starting pitching doesnt last 5 innings? do uw ant your middle relievers pitching 5+ innings.
Also what if you guys (mets) get behind in the series, forcing your starters to go out of the bullpen that will wear them out.

Well, 2 of the 3 starters in the dodgers series only pitched 4 and 1/3 or 4 2/3 (maine, trachsel) and …mets still swept 
mets have a very deep, versatile bullpen.
there’s no way willie’s gonna put in a MR pitcher to throw from inning 5 to the end lol…he’s not a retard.
i will guarantee willie will not use a starter (glavine, maine, trachsel) out of the bullpen. he MIGHT use oliver perez who can be a starter, or long relief. i highly doubt anyone will get worn out, but hey, even if they do, this is playoff baseball…they’ll tough it out. besides, the cards’ staff isn’t much better if at all than the mets’ staff…so what if THEY get worn out
lastly… no matter how much the NLCS goes back and forth, the ALCS is probably going to be more of a slugfest w/ worn out pitching, which i’ll gladly take cuz that just gives the mets more of chance to win.

Chris Carpenter is the only starter that I’m worried about.
The Met have been playing consistantly good baseball, i don’t see them A-Rodding (aka, flaking in the playoffs) at all.
carpenter is starting game 3 too. that means if the mets can take the first two at home (totally possible) that limits carpenter to only 1 start in the series, WHICH I WILL GLADLY TAKE

how can u guarentee he wont use a starter out of the bullpen have u ever watch a mlb postseason game where one team is facing elimination. Dont get me wrong, i dont think they will be in that rough of a situation im just saying its possible

(except he might play better tan like 1 for 20 or whatever he was)

How many mets games have u watched/listened to this year? I think i got a good 120+ in, i missed a few w/ vacations and forgetting to watch and stuff.
what im saying is, we have plenty of GOOD relievers so that we aren’t forced into pushing a starter to come in in a desparate situation.
pitchers are strange creatures…a LOT of starters can’t get mentally and physically “ready” in 5 minutes to come in and shut down a bases loaded 0 or 1 out situation. relievers have been doing it all season, u can’t trust a starter to just come in and do it like it aint no thang… i know randy did it w/ arizona but more likely than not, it doesnt work (i.e. brad penny pitching in relief in game 1 nlds…yea that worked well)
