*OFFICIAL* Duff's Cruise Night 2009

:word: you crazy dotCommunists!!!

It was entirely different back when people had meets at UB and at Christophers.

me

You should have asked for their facebook or myspace first.

not that it matters…but the story behind the seats is … the car was full drag most its life. i put it on the street two years ago. i didnt want to sit in an uncomfortable hard drag seat and i wanted a passenger seat. my brother had those just sitting brand new. i bolted them in and drove the car that weekend. they were so comfy i just left them in. i know the blue doesnt match. but blue seats are the last thing on my mind when i cut 1.2 sixty foots.

Haha awesome.

Someone needs to totally acquire that video tape of from that kid.

Who are the two big guys next to the dude in the white tee in #3

I agree to a point. However, even BTC meets were segregated.

Lol, problem solved

And if you are a true baller:

car drama is so dumb

if the kid in the truck wanted to race someone why didnt he call out the jeep for $ ???
it would of been a good heavy race.

newman…you know dam well i could never pull off those dragon seats without your headband !!

I’m pretty sure that those seat covers would require this headband:

Guaranteed that every douche in the greater Buffalo area is going to be trying to provoke Jesse at local car events now just because of that video.

yeah i remember haha, but winter 02 into summer 03 was when its started kickin

that seems to be how the current “car scene” is. I went to one local car meet here and had the same sort of experience. Everyone that already knew each other hung out and talked infront of their cars, but you try to approach them to introduce yourself and you get snubbed.

Not that i have any plans to attend any nyspeed meets since i moved away, but i also have no desire to unless a lot of old UBRFers were gonna go. There’s only a few nyspeeders i’d care to meet, the majority of you guys seem too clicky and more into just mocking people than to sit around and talk about cars.

:word:

IMO the best was from the first meets in the hoch lot right up until starbucks/BTC, then it just started getting too big.

Nights under the skyway & cruising the loop were the best for me.

lol. its great to try to talk so nice about the forum and be civil towards someone who felt wronged by people who were supposedly on this forum only to have the owner of forum be a prick about it. WTF!?:banghead:

Sigh, fall/winter 02, how I miss those days…

ugh i miss the old Bubble Tea days…Dennis, Akvile, Ryan, etc…coolest staff ever, and they all really appreciated us/our scene.

While NYSpeed itself > UBRF, the TIME of UBRF > now…

And i’ve met Southtowns a few times back in the day…i remember one of the last BTC meets, or maybe it was the last one…the night of RealDeal’s epic 30 second or longer heater in the lot…Southtowns took the Willy’s off-roading on one of the tiny rock/garden islands within the lot too, lol…

Well, reading the posts so far makes me feel a little better about things. I’m glad there are lots of others that have had the same experiences and share my opinion about things.
To reiterate, I didn’t go to Duff’s specifically to meet NYSpeeders. I went because I enjoy cruises and shows. I’m not crying because someone wasn’t nice to me. I’m pissed as hell about how younger “car people” are carrying themselves and that’s what is causing my concern about the future of this hobby.
OG’s, thanks for the nice comments and backing me up. It’s the attitude and mentality that most of you guys possess that makes me so irritated with most of the new people.
Sorry I missed so many of you guys at Duff’s. After getting cold-shouldered 4 or 5 times I gave up trying to talk to people.
I guess as long as a bunch of the OG crew is still around all isn’t lost… Hopefully I’ll see some of you guys around this summer.
