If anything, isn’t this a GOOD THING for NYSpeeders?
I’m looking at it like this…now, all the asshats and d-bags that show up to events like this (like the people described in Southtowns’ thread bitching about the crowd there) will stop showing up, and leave more space for us (well us = nyspeeders, not necessarily me). Nobody’s saying people can’t show up, park their nice cars there, and hang out…just go inside and have a beer or get a few wings to show you’re actually a customer, so they can’t give you shit about loitering…just like we always used to at mighty.
but yes it would be cool to have a NYSpeed only type event then you can get a banner made with the name and shit … sport that on a few cars get the name out …
but you will need to put the banners back up on the web to try and make some money
What are you talking about justa4door? I’m talking about keeping the Duff’s meet going by simply keeping the intrest level up here, not making some NYSpeed only event or going beyond having a thread about it (like the one that already exists.)
If NYSpeed people keep going dispite the lack of an official sanctioned cruise night, more of the ‘comited’ and worth while people who normally go may join us. The lesser people who would normally show up might not be as inclined to do so.
Do you really think the owner of Duff’s would like us using his lot for free advertising? Especially now that he’ll be making little to no money without an outdoor liquor license?
I texted the owner about this. Getting a bunch of cars there, parking on the lawn.
he responded with: “I have no problem with that”
No problem with having an organized NYSpeed get together at DUFF’s. We can also get a drink/food special within the resturaunt. There would be no frills outside provided by DUFFS.
I’ll let ONYX dream things up and i’ll let you know what we can make happen. I’m sure it wouldn’t be a problem to get an NYSPEED event weekly which could grow in attendence without the requirement of the prior cruise night festivities.
