No one contacted me about the trailer so I didn’t pick it up… so no one is using it.
Jim (jt76) was worried about rain driving but that’s not a concern anymore.
I’m carting Brian’s (38stang’s) slicks / skinnies and he mentioned last night that joelster was all ready, but then something happened. That was later last night though and I would have needed to know if he wanted a tow almost at that moment. :/:
The track is 684 ft above sea level. For comparison Dunn Tire and Empire typically run between 2000-3000ft DA in the summer. On those rare crisp fall nights when it’s 50 degrees out it will dip below 1000, but you have to be ready to take advantage of it. The best i’ve ever raced in locally was around 600ft, but I know we’ve had negative DA before, maybe once or twice a year. Our tracks close too early. Tracks at a lower elevation like Maryland Int Raceway which is at 87ft above, will run well into November. That’s where all of those “internet class racing heroes” go to set records. The DA at those tracks can get crazy good. Temps in the 40’s, a sticky track, and records will be set. Not uncommon to see DA at the -1500ft level. That will turn a 11.25 second car at Empire in July, into a 10.65 car with zero changes.
The sun kicked my ass, lol… looks like I’m going to be pealing my arms in a few days…
It was SUPER humid out there. No one ran record times (Choda only managed a 10.00 :tif: ) but it was fun regardless!
A good amount of people came to watch, but only 10 cars from the forums actually raced. And only 6 were left for the challenge runs, lol.
No PittSpeed guys made it. One :snky: car broke down on I-79 and one didn’t finish it in time. Several NYSpeed guys had the same problems. We even lost one guy on the way down as his car was smoking
But we’ll be doing this again sometime this summer for sure
Mindless took fastest FWD
Braketracer took fastest AWD
Choda took fastest RWD
I can’t remember the times off the top of my head.
I’m sure people will post stories from today, but LMAO at Choda & Lucky going back-n-forth! Lucky is the man
