Our '03 Hoe has been awesome. The interior kinda sucks despite being a loaded truck, but it is an actual truck that tows things. On a trip to Philadelphia and back we got 17.3mpg, which is really not bad at all for a small building that was carrying 6 people. Normally we have to take two cars for that trip, so it probably ended up cheaper (one car gets 30, the other gets 26-27)

GM needs to put a V6 turbodiesel in the tahoe, something with around 4L displacement. It doesn’t need a heavy-duty tow 20,000lbs sort of diesel, but one that would tow about as well as the 5.3 does and get much better fuel economy.

Hoping to be at 100k by the end of the year. 98,82x right now

I averaged 29mpg city this past tank. How’s your 100,000 miles now?

mpg dropped a bit when they switched to winter blend gas. It was at 16.5-17.5 and now its 14.5-15.5.

Always drops in the winter.

Thats so shitty. My 4500 lbs charger, with all the shit done to it and 3:73’s gets 20 mph at 73 mph cruise control.

cars usually do get better gas mileage than trucks though anyway.

My truck also weighs more, its over 5k pounds and its 4wd.

Factory rated at 14/18

Yea. That kind of ends with a 6.1 at 13:1+ CR and high gearing

My car used to get about 11 mpg when I checked it. Stroker motor, higher compression (not as high as yours), 4.10’s and shit like that.

good luck parking that thing. Actually fuck it, use the fire lane.

Diesel or bust.

99 percent of people with a 3/4 ton truck could do EVERYTHING that they do with that truck totally fine with a 1/2 ton, and have a nicer optioned truck that gets better MPG in the process. Then there is the bros that buy diesels just to say they have diesels…same boat. 99 percent of them could get away totally fine with a gas truck, spend less money, and not have to listen to the stupid sounds they make in the process.

99 percent of people using trucks as their daily use vehicles have no real use for them. lol

That’s a lot of uses, but I can’t sleep so fuck this shit. My thread.

99% of the people don’t have farms. Every half ton truck that’s ever been on the farm has gotten torn up and the gas trucks have trouble pulling double hay wagons up hills.

LOL at that glorified ranger getting less mileage than 'ol stroke. Consistent 16 lately with shit temps and fuel. Was doing almost 19 in summer. HOSS.

Plug your ears you’re not going to want to hear this.

Diesel 1 ton or 3/4 ton trucks or bust. Why? Lets have a looksee:

  1. I get the same or better fuel mileage as a 1/2ton soccer mom jumpoff

  2. Stick 10k behind your truck and let me know what the mileage is then: Cause I’m getting 14 AVG Loaded. (if that pile of shit can even tow 10k)

  3. I drive my truck every day and parallel park it everyday in downtown albany, so don’t tell me it’s not practical.

  4. You’re not happy with the performance of your glorified Mazda B2000, so you put headers, exhaust, intake, cam, heads all your LS motor bullshit. I turn the knob on my dashboard one click and go by you. What’s your mileage at now? Mines the same as it was before.

  5. Lets not even bring up GVWR, I can put in my bed what you can GVWR.

  6. But your oil changes cost more :‘(:’(:‘(:’( Ok, you got me there. So every 5k I spend $100 on an oil change. I’m stilling winning, fuck you.

Diesel > gas any god damn way you cut it. I don’t care if you don’t agree. ignorance = bliss. Enjoy.

/thread.

You should be able to do better than that with a t00n. I’m expecting low 20s average country/highway driving if I get this 2500hd.

different motors = different mileage. 19 summer highway is fucking stellar for 6 wheeled 4x4 8200lb 7.3L archaic-injected behemoth.
