while still slow, impressive for that little car considering I saw a bunch of TA’s and vettes running almost 10s all night lol
i beat a blue c6(?) z51 vette w/ my gtp around 10:30ish last night or so. i can’t seem to get quicker than a 9.03 w/ street tires. But that was the closest race i’ve had all year. first run of the night was a brand new 08 cobalt ss turbo which i pulled buses on. only 700 miles on it or so(it was red)
it was a talon/eclipes. i saw that. back fire dan? i think they called him. i cant remember his name to well, everytime he shifts his car backfires! lol
I ran a 8.5 and then a 8.4X spinning 1st, then 2nd (on the first run the 1st-2nd shift was a bit scary). After that i was done. Its amazing how shitty the track is on a wensday. I was also suprised when i was bitched at for not having a helmet considering that the past couple times, i have seen verts with tops down, windows open, there is no tech at all, idiots on bikes doing wheelies, ghetto people threatening eachother with pipes, etc etc.
did that pickup from last week run? the lifted single stack turbo that moves fast as shit?

Not to be a huge asshole, but doesn’t your built motor auto ls1 only run in the 8’s? That’s not blazing fast
considering evolution vii mr(mike) on here runs 8.1 with a turboback boost controller and a tune…I’m just saying :shrug: will we be seeing a for sale thread for a built ls1 car soon??

I only have about 8 passes on it, I ran a 7.8 with a 1.9 60’, with my stall I should be cutting 1.5s-1.6s but due to my big cam I am lacking brake pedal pressure and I have a hard time stalling it up and holding it in the staging lane…
Next year I will have a vacum canister and a line lock if necessary, cutting 1.5s should put me in the 7.2-7.4 range…
My trap is 91mph but the car is shifting a few car lengths before the traps regardless if I have it in D or OD, next season is also going to see 3.73s gears vs my current 3.23s and I am going to adjust the shift points and dyno tune it…
So figure 7.2-7.4s @ 92-95mph

But when the tubbed/caged/slicks/69 yellow camaro driver got out of his car at the staging light to go back to his trunk, turn on the bottle then purge at the line to the SRT8 Jeep, the crowd was on there feet as the jeep returned the purge. They took off and the jeep lane got the light, jeep won! Jeep ran 7.6 and the 69 Maro ran 7.8 THE CROWN WENT FUCKING NUTS!!! BEST RACE OF THE NIGHT HANDS DOWN!!!

My helmet is out of date and I have bullshitted the tech guy the last few times and said I didnt know and what not and he has let me slide but he knows who I am now, so no more runs for me until I get a newer one…

That was a great race. The Jeep hauled ass. But the cheering when he went to open the bottle in the Camaro :tup:

Yup that was me. I wanted to see how the new tune was and what I’d run just driving up on the azenis rt-615’s and running an unpreped track. Which is exactly what happened 5mins after pulling through gates I was staging. My 1-2 shift sucked because I accidently tripped the nlts because I’m always nervous on my first run. The backfire is from my nlts settings which keep me at 20+ psi between gears. I spun all of 1st and part of second but still managed a 7.78 @ 103. Still just on straight pump gas 93octane and stock motor. Next week I’ll rock the drag radials.:shoot:

hAHAHAHA i died laughing …that was a orange piece camaro when the black guy drove it …his passenger grabbed the hose and was spraying the tires and the tech flipped out, then he went to do a burnout and couldnt get the rear end to break at all…he couldnt stage the car at all , nailed the gas almost hit the wall and ran a 8.4 or so
then later in then night the car went down the track with a driver who had a helmet on and ran a 7.4 or so ?? i dont get lancaster sometimes
Is the Line lock for heating the tires or do you have a std tranny? Line lock only locks the front wheels. I changed my brake bias & installed bigger rear wheel cylinders so I could build more boost without spinning the tires at the line. I think you would really benefit from a tranny brake.

Like I posted above the cam eats up so much of the vacum that the brake pedal is stiff as a rock and I have to put my foot into it with all of my weight
It works good for driving around town but I cant seem to hold the car worth a shit to heat the tires
I dont want to go with something as drastic as a tranny brake for now, hopefully a canister with do wonders, the car see’s 90% street and 10% track
Missed the Ranger, 7.6’s @ 90mph from a New Jeep SRT on spray is SIQQ, that’ll surprise a few ppl:)
