Old School BMX

www.bmxmuseum.com

Anyone checked this out? I’ve killed a good hour or two already looking at all the old skool bikes and all the ones I saw and rode as a kid.

Edit: If you fish through the idiots posting new bikes…there are some real legends in there…even the bike that started it all…the Schwinn King-Sting…it was what would evolve into the early BMX bike

If they had a collection of all the bikes that appeared in RAD, they’d be golden.

ninja edit: Cru Jones FTMFW

Rick Moliterno in Rad. “Hey, Cru. Sign my cast.”

My old GT Vertigo was on there. :bigok:

I just saw my old purple GT performer on there I got when I turned 8, lol. That’s where Rick got his Mulleterno nickname…

I haven’t seen Rad since I was like 7. Is it on DVD?

Oh BTW:

No but I have a bootlegged copy (and you can find dubbed versions on egay), and one original VHS cassette I stole from Blockbuster in 9th grade. I also have the music soutrack I compiled over the years that I still get a kick out of…

You’re taking a chance, risking it all
For the thrill of the moment
Taking a stand, you ain’t gonna fall
You’ve always known it
They’re dying to shake you,
Trying their best to break you
And though the going is rough, you’re going home as a hero

…When there’s thunder in your heart

every move is like lightning…(sing along)

I downloaded RAD last year. I watch it a good bit, what a great movie.

This looks almost exactly like the one I had.

I had this exact bike

http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/dyno/13892

until my little brother decided to take it out and get hit by a car with it, that was the end of the dyno :frowning:

Rad was awesome

I had 2 old school mongoose frames I threw some parts on. They were chrome and only had the mongoose sticker on the down tube so I never new what model they were but it looks like it was either a mightygoose, pro or california from 1983. I had tons of old school parts on it too. think my parents threw it away. :frowning:

Also found this. I remember saving birthday and christmas money and shit and buying a brand new 94 GT PRO SERIES. It was like $400, nicest bike I ever had. Sold it years later for like $150 booo.

a friend of mine had this bike with some 3 piece cranks and I think he put skyway mags on it. That bike ruled.

Wow, my very first ride.

Frame was red, tires were white, rims had a gold finish (spokes not mags). Even had checkered pads on it lol. Got sold a few years ago without me knowing about it, wish I was able to hold onto it :frowning:

I have an original Rad movie poster. Found it in the attic of a movie theatre.

There’s my first:

Here’s my frame list:
GT Vertigo
Redline Proline
S&M Holmes
Hyper FS20 Aluminum
DK General Lee x 2
DK Legacy
FBM Live Wire
FBM Bitchin Camaro

Not a totally inclusive list, but:

Hoffman Condor
Hoffman TAJ
S&M Holmes
Standard STA
Standard Trailboss
Standard STA-new version
Terrible One Progression
DK LEgend
MacNeil Ruben Alcantara signature
Hoffman DirtyOneThirty

I only keep frames for a season at best, so that explain the number I’ve ridden…

damn.

heres mine.

GT interceptor
Redline Pro Line
GT Pro Series
Schwinn XS
Powerlite P38
Powerlite P61
Powerlite P61 (redesigned)

and I had some other frames in my basement that my brother build up and rode. a Free Agent, S&M Holmes and i think another XS

i currently have a '99 GT Pro Series. went back to a mid-school chromo bike. the '99 pro series frame is alot more low-profile than the classic Pro Series style that i used to have (with the angled chainstay at the rear dropout). its too bad my skills have diminished so much, that i cant appreciate a good bike anymore. lol

Well I guess Ill add my list as well
A kmart Huffy <-----First bike ever
A very old mongoose w/skyway mags
Gt Performer
Powerlite p19
Gt Mach 1
Reynolds Racing Fresh 40
DK Pro XL
