Does anyone here have any personal opinions and experiences of purchasing S13 front mount intercoolers off Ebay? Let me know about the quality, the shipping time and the fitment of the FMIC. Thanks, these opinions will really help out a guy looking for a decent intercooler.
your better off just getting a Megan one around here for $300-$400
its all the same thing really,
i sell them for $275 - $350 depending on size.
the worst part of ebay is not getting what you wanted ,not getting it at all, or getting raped on internatioanl shipping… look at the shipping rates some of the guys charge for intercoolers… some are over $50… it only costs $12 to ship that thing.
bing you need to start selling full kits with piping, then ebay would no longer be an option for anyone.
How hard is it to run or make your own intercooler piping? If one was to buy just an intercooler?
Not so hard if you have a welder, if not then you have to get it made…
thanks for the reply guys, I’ve been trying to find intercoolers with mandrel bent piping made for an S13 SR20DET but it’s been hard. If I had a pipe bending machine than I would do it myself. Does anyone here know of any places that sell full bolt on intercooler kits for the S13 SR? If not, does anyone know how much it will cost to get custom piping done? Let me know, thanks again. (P.S I am on a budget)
Just get a megan from like phil (s14_2nv), he’ll hook you up. Have piping made. Comes out cheaper if your on a buget. Pretty sure piping can be done for like $300-$500. He also has full greddy, HKS and other name brand kits with piping but thats $$$$. Screw those ebay intercooler kits, most I seen people get these kits and they don’t fit right and they retain the rubber intake piping off the Throttle body.
ya I figured, those Ebay intercooler pics don’t look accurate and I am sure that the ones in the pics aren’t even the ones they send you. I might go with a custom setup with custom piping. Thanks for the replys.
Since were on the topic of intercoolers has anyone actually told their insurance company that they have a FMI installed, and just out of curiousity how much are you paying for insurance and how old r u?
