well, when i come back up to PA the end of feb, i’ll take it out.
It is a 95, but i’m not sure of the exact date. If by chance it ISN’T, then what do u do in that situation?

u can get the ecu socketed for the eprom chip.usually that costs around 50 bucks i think.

from what i understand you can’t, that’s why 95ecus are the only ones dsmlink will work with. it still costs the 50 bux to socket for the chip from them anyways for the eprom setup.
confirmed: dsmlink ONLY works with 95 eprom ecus:
When you order DSMLink, there are two “versions” or packages available. The contents of each package are slightly different. The first package is the typical version where you have an unmodified '95 EPROM ECU and would like to have DSMLink installed in it. The second package is intended for those people that have already had work done on their ECU by someone else.
If your ECU has not already been socketted by someone else, then you’ll need to send us your ECU to have this work done. No DSM ECU comes from the factory with a socketted EPROM. So you’ll know whether you’ve had it done before. If you don’t know, then you haven’t had it done. With this package, we’ll socket the EPROM and install a DSMLink version in place of the factory EPROM. We’ll then ship the factory EPROM back to you, unmodified, in its own little electrostatic protective box so that you can always revert back to pure factory mode if needed.
If your ECU is already socketted, then we can simply ship a new EPROM with DSMLink code on it. You can swap the chips yourself easily enough. It is possible, however, to bend or break pins and render a chip useless if you are careless while pulling and/or inserting a chip into the ECU. So if you’re not comfortable with this yet you know your ECU has already been socketted, then feel free to send us your ECU and we’ll do the swap at no charge.
all socketing does is removes the eprom chip from the ecu and in place of it install a quick install socket that’s soldered to the board and the eprom chip is plugged into it…post 95 ecus do not have this chip therefore removing it to add a socket isn’t really doable
this wouldn’t be b/c the first 2g (95) is obdI and the very next year (96) is obdII?
no 95’s are still obdII it’s because they ahve an actual eprom chip on them
interesting…
well, first off where is a good place to get the translator?
no matter where u get it it’s the same price of 199,
just make sure it’s v 1.3 or higher
