Owned myself

went to leave work yesterday to go cruise with the turbo boys. Well i got to start the car. CLANG. Starter nose cracked and it shorted out and started smoking the ground wire. After pushing the car by my little ass self down to the clark bar, i get a tow. Got a new starter and she’s fixed again…oh well so much for Beware of the g-bodys last night.

Haven’t had my car on a lift since last fall, floor boards are looking sad. FUcking leaking t-tops. Looks like i gotta get a patch this year.

better start working on it…spring and summer around the corner

Three cheers for American build quality!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

you got to love the gbodys to really appreciate all their rusting problems
frame rails, bottoms of doors, rockers, lower rear quarters, floorboards,
upper door hinge, and bumper shock mounts.

heh…at least Camaros die long before they rust out…

the car is almost 20 years old, wtf you want. How many 85 hondas you see that aren’t rusted out??? The cars that are all rusted out are the cars that didn’t get cared for. its has nothing to do with the quality. My 83 was was a PA car since new and the frame is perfect. People think that if they wash a car they are taking care of it, well theres more to it than that. The way to correct g-body doors rusting is to clean the drains out so water doesn’t sit in the door. But i wouldn’t expect you to know anything about quality, LOOK AT WHAT YOU DRIVE!!! Why are you even on PittSPEED!!! at least i have a car that is somewhat fast in the GS. You could be towed faster in the quarter than you could run.

too late:rolleyes:

i had some regals in my time and that was some of the problems
and B-O-B is right they have poor drainage so they do rust out badly
around the hinges.

forgot about the rear window seal and that damm gayass vinyl roof that tears and shreads and then your roof is all rusted from it being ripped up

My 78 Corolla has no water issues… it lived here, Jersey, and Honshu for the last 26 years…

Look at GM’s NUMMI plant. When it built Camaros, they were regarded as one of the lowest build quality plants on Earth. When Toyota came in and fixed GM’s mess, it became one of the best plants on Earth. GM’s a fucking mess.

As for my right to be on this board? Drag racing is for idiots who can’t build a real car. I’m building my CRX for rally. Rally, my mildly retarded friend, is an actual sport.

NUMMI is a car factory in California that once made Camaros. They became a joint Toyota/GM venture and their build quality skyrocketted. With the discontinuation of the Chevy Prizm, the factory became a Toyota-only plant.

I’d drive three hours to the Poconos to compete in a real race.

1320 feet? That’s not a race; it’s a warm up.

what year camaro i never recall then made in california…but i could be wrong

I know for sure that the generation of the 79 Camaro was built there.
