Ok…so I’ve downloaded the FSM for my S14 and it’s a great source of information. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have part numbers in it. Am I missing a section of the FSM or are part numbers in a different book?
Different.
OK…thanks…anyone have any idea if there is a parts number catalogue? or is it an electronic databse thing that only dealers and mechanics have?
Call up a Nissan dealer. describe the part to them and they can give you
a part # (or fax you a sheet if you want to look and confirm it).
Actually, I wanted to find out if any Nissan/Inifiniti vehicle with OEM HIDs used the same projector unit as the '98 S14. I didn’t think the dealership would be very receptive to me asking for a listing the part numbers of all Nissan/Inifiniti projector assemblies.
If going to the dealership is the only route, I guess that’s what I will have to do…
Nissan’s FAST (the prog. dealers use for parts lookup) should be able to cross reference parts from other vehicles that are compatible. It’s up to the parts guy if he feels like doing it for you though.
Wikked…if they can do that…i’ll stop by and see.
related question: is this FAST program available anywhere? I used have a copy of the Toyota version that worked on a PC, so maybe this is always available as a hack somewhere?
You can get information on the FAST program here:

There are two versions of the FAST Software.
North American (You cannot get a copy of this unless you have hookups at a dealership, it is Nissan Canada Inc. property.)
and
Other (basically Japanese, but it has Euro Nissans too) - Lots of ripped copies floating around, good if you have SR20 swap or want OEM silvia headlights brand new.
I have both Japanese and North American, I’ll sell for 10 each, or 15 for the pair.
PM me for details… (you can always download it, but there is about 3CDs worth of .zips if you download them all, and needless to say, it takes a while)
