Update!
The last two days I tore into the motor to replace the head gasket that seemed like it decided to blow after the car ran really hot one day while i was fixing bugs in the cooling system.
Well got into the motor and head today and checked the gasket…looked fine. valves looked fine. oil was fine. block looked fine. WTF!
Turns out, what i thought was a blown head gasket was actually a torn heater hose that mounts to the back of the head. that was causing coolant to drain out, down the back of the hot motor, trans and exhaust and giving the effect of a blown head gasket where coolant exits thru the exhaust.
Ended up replacing the head gasket, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, valve seals, CAS, thermostat, o rings, cam seals, valve cover gasket along with some radiator hoses and other shit.
Car seems to be running great now! fingers crossed haha

The same hose also blew on my car a couple weeks ago. Luckily I made the right diagnosis and saved myself from a complete teardown 
Now that we have two turbo miata’s in the area, let’s do a run this wednesday, if it doesn’t rain lol
hahah yea preventative maintenance for sure. i figured 101,000 miles, turbo, leaky cam seals n shit, possible blown head gasket…may have well just done it right ya know?

Tuning has kinda been on hold until heat and coolant issues are solved. Just ordered silicone hoses and heat wrap to solve a current problem and prevent another.

fans seem fine. i wired them too a switch so i can turn them on whenever. coolant temps are fine. just issues with hoses hitting shit and rubbing on stuff and causing leaks.
What fans did you replace yours with?
I have the same fans you have. But they’re inferior than stock fans, especially when you didn’t have cooling problems before.
yea. running them parallel and wired to a switch that allows me to turn them on whenever i want, makes it a lot better. temps the other day didnt go over 171.
had a problem yesterday with a split upper radiator hose, so today my dad and i went through and moved a lot of pieces around…radiator, intercooler, piping to get a better fit. also made some braces so the radiator doesnt bounce around.
fingers crossed shit is good now. just needs more tuning…
