there is a red S14 zenki that i have seen where the owner secured his front bumper with some sort of buckle bolted from the fender to bumper.
i am sure the bumper was bolted in, but the buckle was for eztra support.
i’d like to grab that pic, the S14 was red, super clean and was likley from SOCAL, and i would also like to know exactly what kind of buckle or strap he used and where i can get it

those look pretty wack, very hackish, teh yashio factory s15 has a similar thing on their car, and it looks a lot cleaner, if someone hadnt already mentioned they bought them their i was gonna say it looked like he picked them up from a hardware store,
i looked to see if i ahd the pic but cant find it, teh car has changed so many times, i know that it is a recent pic though, since they added those new graphics with that mount fuji and all that shit on the side, it was a chrome clip and it was only one, maybe thats why that car looks shotty, the two clips looks wack and ruins a clean car imo

Those look like the type of buckles that big rigs use to keep there hoods down. Theres a stainless steel track on one side, and the rubber fastner clips into it.

yeah it looks whack, but in a competition type environment where damage needs to be repaired with 20min (est) before the next run, taking off a bumper in 30 seconds seems like a fair trade off,
track use only, some dipshit would steal your bumper in T.O. within a week of having them

as well they usually offer full rubber ones, leather straps for the vintage look or a spring loaded stainless model.

if you want to go cheap, you can use a snowmobile hood latch…

they go for $4.88 each, plus $2.99 for the latch (#10 in pic), you could make them work with a bit of handywork
they are strong, and made to handle the elements
