pjb,s e/bay build up

just get rotella oil run it for about 30 min drop the oiland filter refill with rotella and run for 500 miles .then change oil again and run into ground

He wants me to get one of those break in additives though- see the thread I made

snake oil.

you’re going to change the oil in 100 miles if not sooner anyway, just get the cheapest shit you can.

nope ,after 1/2 hr of runnin at temp .the drop it then go 500 miles then again

sounds expensive to somebody thats broke

gotta do it man ,if not all that initial oil is gonna have all that metal in it and assembly lube .ya dont want that in your motor

Well I guess 500 miles is more than Ive put on it in a year and a half

do as john said. and rev the thing when you drive it, dont baby it around. you need to build cylinder pressure to seat the rings correctly. without having higher cylinder pressure the rings will wear in and not have as good a seal as they would if you put a little nut behind it.

Personally, I’d change the oil at 500 miles. That’s what I did with the highest HP car on the forum (Ray’s) and it’s still running…

im into sex women who dont talk back and make me dinner everynight. can i build one of those?

Put in shit napa oil

Rev the motor up to like 3k for 30 mins

Drain oil

put in more shit oil

Drive for a few hundred miles, dont be afraid to get on it, seriously put the miles on it too you dont want to put the car away while its still in break in status lolz

Drain oil

put in good oil

Drive her like you stole it

Proceed to regular oil changes every 3-5kmi

THATS RETARTED! DO NOT DO THIS!

everybody’s got an opinion.

i kinda agree with shady on this one honestly.

then again I have never had a fresh built motor or had to break one in, but this is what my buddy did with his 331 build…and that thing is still getting its neck wrung daily 30k miles later…put down 420whp too.

Just like john and brett said, run the rotella dude it has what break in additive adds to reg oil in it. fill it up, run it do w.e your cam card says to do for cam break in. (what i told you on the other thread is what mine said). Take it out and give it a good driving, dont kick the shit out of it but dont baby it. Just drive it like your in a hurry to work. Take it back to the garage drain the oil and put new shit in. Your good to go. I promise. I know after all of our advice your going to be stuck doing what matt says anyways cuz thats how that moron rolls, but trust us, next time, do it this way.

I agree with you on that, everyones got an opinion and most everybody’s way works most of the time. But this kid has had his nuts in a vice with this car too many times, he may have a chance to be happy with it and to do that he really should break it in the right way. THe run shit oil method works but it doesnt help with hardening any of the internals during their first heat cylces and a few other things that the zinc and other materials in rotella/break in additive does.

Rotella’s cheap as hell anyways, no reason not to use it as a break in oil. I wasn’t disagreeing on the Rotella aspect, in fact I wasn’t disagreeing with you at all, just saying that the first oil you put in the motor should be drained asap anyways after running it so I don’t think it really matters what you use…or that there’s no reason to use high dollar oil for your break in…yeah that.

yeah yeah definitley…i think rotellas like 14 bucks for a gallon. u got it bro put it in, run it for a bit and dump it.

i broke my engine in on Rotella T.

me too, its the way to go, i broke it in on it and run it in it all the time

I’m going to run it on my next oil change.
