i want to repolish my intercooler piping cause they have some scraches and stuff on them and i was wondering what you guys would do. should i use a wire brush and then a buff pad or some really fine grit sand paper then buff it?
have them powdercoated or heat coated
but i like the shiny look i can be pimp and brush my teeth using the piping as a mirror
there is this stuff you can buy at auto parts stores called “NEV-R-DULL” pick that up. it does wonders. its like a wadding material with a strong polishing compound in it meant for chrome and polished wheels
reflective chrome powdercoat
oh sweet i didnt know they had that
yea…i am doing my valve cover in that
i polished my stock alum IC piping… it came out pretty decent
You can always send it off to Jet Hot and have it done in sterling silver. Lots of our customers do that.
That powder coat is quite interesting, any ideas as to the long time durability of the finish, and ease of maintence?
As for the Jet Hot coating seen it before and it looks quite nice, but how much would that usually cost for something such as say an intake manifold?
Lafengas did it on my FMIC piping, it came out a dull silver… wasnt too impressed by it
do u know if he used the single or dual stage powder nad are u sure its the reflective chrome…there are many different finishes…in terms of durability…just like normal powdercoat…extremely durable if done right and all it takes to clean it is soap and water
by the way thats an actual pic of someones work
Another vote for nev-r-dull…If your piping isn’t too scratched up, it should polish up pretty nice. I used it on my exhaust and it worked awesome.
Email me a pic of the item for a quote… paul@dezod.com
sand with 400 grit… sand with 800, sand with 1000, WET SAND with 2000
then polish like 3 times
word ^ aluminum is pretty easy to bling out.
i don’t think yours were done in a “reflective chrome” powdercoat, just a silver. I remember the welds were kinda nasty and would have made them look worse had they been a ‘chrome-like’ finish.
I’ve heard some good stuff about this, for after polishing though

nice i think i will take it up to 4000 grit for that extra shine
