Polishing unpolished wheels

i can get a good deal on a set of motegi track light wheels but they are not the kind i actually wanted so i was wondering is it possible to polish the lip on wheels that dont come that way? cause i wanted the ones with the polished lip

You can pretty much polish anything if you have the time.
If you just want to polish the lip/rim, a large lathe would be handy to spin the wheel.
Any way you do it the challange will be to keep a nice clean line between the polished and painted areas.

jack the drive wheels up, spin 'em, remove/replace with non-drive wheels, repeat. like head and shoulders for your dubz.

call 649-2044. It’s a metal polishing place down in hamburg. They do quality work at a reasonable price. My guess would be under $100 to have your lips polished… which is about what you’ll have to spend in materials to do the polishing yourself if you don’t already have the equipment or compounds.

Sounds pretty good.
Don’t forget to care for the lips once they are polished. Bare aluminum will look like hell if not taken care of.

:word:

just clear coat them after… doesn’t take much away from the look but it will def help keep them nice, unless you want to be one of the “ballers” that clean their wheels everytime they move their car.

lol i dont clean my wheels untill the brake dust is caked on. but yea i definately would not do it myself cause i know it would come out lookin like shit. ill have to give that place a call

oh yea they would probably have to take all the paint off the wheel right

Only in the spot that you are polishing, but yes.

well thats good i was afraid that they would have to take it off the whole wheel
