Chevy had a turbo car in 1962, the Corvair.
The injection setup in the 62 olds 215 was a 1/2 methyl alchohol 1/2 water mix, to try to prevent detonation due to the 10:1 compression ratio. Boost was limited to 5PSI. It was discontinued in 64 due to reliability issues
The corvair had an 8.0:1 compression and did not require water injection.
