Portable jump starters.

I thought there was a thread about these before? But I couldn’t find it.
Obviously I’m retarded, everyone already knows that.

Anyone use these? My dad has had 3 throughout the years… 2 he bought, 1 he got for free. None of them were able to successfully start his suburban when it came time to actually use one for the intended purpose… even after a full charge.

Any recommendations on a GOOD quality one?

I was about to haul some wood today, and my tractor is having a hard time starting and now that I’ve cranked it for longer than the 20 seconds total that the POS battery allows me, it’s cranking pretty slow. I have a feeling I’ll need one… If not for the tractor, for one of our cars. I don’t want to miss out on work because of a dead battery or be late trying to jump it.

Plus I LOVE taking these things camping. the 12v power is wonderful. inflator, cell phone, etc… Lightweight and don’t take up much space. but if a monster one is required to do the job of getting a larger motor started, it’s fine. I want something that can def crank larger motors since I’m looking at getting a 20-30k GVW truck in the spring time… Never know if it will need it. Especially since I’m looking at older 80s-early 90s models.

Jump N Carry is a really good line, they make some beastly ones and they all have great reviews.

The inflator and 12V comes in handy more than the actual jump start feature.

I have a Jump-N-Carry My dad used it for 4 years while working on a tow-truck and I use it around the sop i love it.

A fios battery works quite well.

Max amps are great, but the cranking amps are the ones getting the truck/tractor started. Buy the best one you can afford.

thanks guys.

Both are about the same price… I’d imagine the 950 would be better though. X-force is quite a bit lighter.
I liked the one you posted Jon, an aircompressor on it would be very nice. But I don’t think 425CCA is enough for larger motors… and they didn’t make a larger model of it. Then I realized it’s probably cheaper to just run a separate 12v inflator anyway

I have a Jump N Carry 4000, which is smaller than the ones you listed and I was able to crank over my non-starting honda accord long enough to drive it into my garage and move it around entirely off the jump box/starter motor! The JNC4000 is one of the smaller -rated boxes they make…
