LS6 pistons are cast from high-strength M142 aluminum alloy and reshaped with a slightly different profile than those in the LS1. In side view, the LS6 pistons have a slight barrel shape, almost imperceptible to the naked eye. The new alloy increases engine durability at racetrack operating levels, while the shape reduces internal mechanical noise.

anyways, Power level abilitys are about the same on both motors. 600rwhp-650rwhp on both is the “safe” point…with a few 700rwhp’s not having a problem.

you dont “need” it…its more of a safety reassurance…
alot of guys run meth on the LS1’s too.
The LS6 has more compression then the LS1…so even tho your pistons are “stronger” it takes more of a beating from boost

DD means it goes through stop and go traffic, driving around city, highway, etc…just like your everyday car.
