the modem isnt the issue unless he’s using the Motorola surfboard, which if memory serves me correct do not even work anymore on the TW network since the upgrade last summer.
its either one of two things.
1.) way too many RR users in your area, and some are pulling down massive files
2.) the lines to your house need to be checked out by a tech. there may be interference on the line.
i just went through #2 last year, and they ended up re-wiring the house. that also cleared up all the scrambling of the digital cable channels, etc.
ill have to see if i still have the links bookmarked at home when i get home later tonight. if i do ill send them to you, and then have you send or post up a screenshot of the graph that will be displayed.
edit:
and here @ work, my speeds are…
Down: 149Mbps
Up: 114Mbps
the download is 8.93 mbps
the upload is 988kpbs
is this good? is my computer is good working order?
alittle slow on the upload. download is right about where it should be. upload should be around 1.5 - 2 mbps if your getting a perfect connection. some areas will be higher though, and some lower. depends on line conditions, etc.
dont use that speed test… it tests way lower than the time warner one
this is some RCA box modem… fucking garbage… had several techs show up and try messing with lines… never rewired the entire house though… as sad as it is the numbers used to be around 505kbps downloand and 75kbps upload
I win :number1
kbps is smaller than mbps
Killobytes per second - 1000 = 1 MB
Megabytes per second - 1000 = 1GB
