Power Antenna Cleaning

My power antenna gets stuck on occasion in the cold, as i’m sure many of you can relate.

Is there anything I can do other than wiping it with a dry cloth to clean it/“unstick” it? Can I use a lubricant on it, such as silicone spray? Would that pose a possible electrical issue?

I am having same problem, check the most recent post Power Antena not working, one of the guys suggested lubing it.

WD40!

Yeah – I hit mine with some WD40…seems to work fine.

and you won’t have any electrical issues using WD40 either.

Let it come all the way up.

Soack the sucker with WD-40, and force it to go up and down a few times.

If you got extra time on your hands, take the entire antennae unit out.

Personally, I wouldn’t recomend WD40 as it is essentially a solvent/penetrant which once evaporated offers little protection against friction. I have used a moly-lithium grease on all my power antenna’s (pathfinder, accord, 240) and they never have jammed since being lubed.

just cut the wire on the back of the deck so it stops working and stays down. its quieter and looks good.
