PowerMac G5 2.0Ghz Dual Processor 2.5GB RAM 250GB HDM9032LL/A (cant get it to work)

Bought this off of a friend who said it stopped working a few months back. I bought it from him as a little project as I knew the power supply was shot. Ripped the thing apart and installed a new power supply. Now however I cant get it to the boot menu, it just “clicks”. Im guessing it needs a new motherboard which can be found for about $50-$75 on eBay. Its been sitting around though for a few months and needs to go now.

This model for a few hundred on eBay (working), so with it coming with a brand new hard drive and new power supply Im asking $75/BO. If you can get it working with a new motherboard it will be a steal.

It was thoroughly dusted and cleaned out when I put in the new power supply. Case only has a few minor scratches on it.

I will give you $30 becuase I just want to turn it into a fish tank.

It’s too bad that nobody makes software for the old power pc boxes anymore. This thing could probably still do some work if software was available.

If you’re hearing clicks…sounds like a bad HDD…which shouldn’t be too much. These G5s worked real well for recording studios. I remember using one in HS with ProTools I think. We were the first class to use it.

Just tested it out… hear a slight click and the front light is lit up but no dice on any fans or anything.

bump

Unplug the hard drive from the motherboard and try and turn it on.

Your thinking of the other old school macs the all in one g3s

honda4life Ive tried both options. doesnt want to “turn over”. just get the front LED.

I’ll give you $50 if you want to get rid of it today.

Come get it!
