pre-war purchase...with a twist

I didn’t realize how high up you actually sit in that thing, haha.

yeah its channeled

spent the hour of daylight i had after work making a door panel for the passenger side

mounted the door panel

time to make the rear

wrapped

all mounted up

Hallock left that thing out there?

lower it

yes

no

but i do really need to get some hinges on the rear deck lid…it would make fueling up much easier

so today i spent most of the afternoon making a trim piece with stainless steel for around the gauges

you can see all the holes and hacks from over the years

so then i made a template

didnt take many pics of the rest of the progress but here is what i ended up with

That looks way fucking better!

+1

thanks dudes

so after work today i decided to fix my loose seat.

cut a few pieces of this and drilled some holes

also cut this tab to go on the back so the seatback doesnt slip backwards under hard acceleration

also had an incorrect fuel cap on the tank which would leak slightly. ended up finding a bunch of old NOS caps and found one that fits way better

then it was time for coffee

So I just now noticed this thread. That is a VERY nice car. I’d daily drive the thing. In my opinion, the only thing it needs is a Flathead, but it’s probably more fun with the “Rocket.” How’d they adapt the valve covers?

some all thread through the LS valve covers…

noticed some sputtering and less than snappy throttle response so i decided to change out the fuel filter since who knows how long its been on there…

id say it was time haha

good as new…

lol, definitely time for a change. But maybe you should look for where that much corrosion could have come from up-stream.

lol the tank is like a billion years old. its safe to say I found the source.

New fuel cell mod? Or is that tank something cool that needs to stay original?

Use an old keg or something weird
