pretty cool technology

http://www.sandia.gov/news/resources/releases/2007/z-ice.html

Sandia’s huge Z machine, which generates temperatures hotter than the sun, has turned water to ice in nanoseconds. However, don’t expect anything commercial just yet: the ice is hotter than the boiling point of water.

So pretty soon I’ll be able to chill my beer in a nanosecond. Got it.

still won’t make genny any better

Hmm, I’m no chemist, and didn’t read the article, but how is ice hotter than the boiling point of water? Would it technically not be ice then?
