Progress Thread 1991 Coupe Quattro

I know I need pics, I will take some right now. I’m just not so proud of how it looks until I get it painted…which will happen some time after it runs 100%

edit: nvm camera battery is dead, I will get some later after it sees a touch free carwash.

I ordered a direct kit from 2Bennett. There website is www.2bennett.com
I carry both 2Bennett and 034 for the money 2bennett stuf is better quality and fitment its hands down a lot better then 034.

This is what my front 2bennett coilovers came out when I was done with them.

those look serious, how much would that run me?

$525 for the kit. It can use any shock available for the coupe quattro. I used koni’s. Theres non-adjustable, internal or external adjustable shocks.

I have an extra set of front control arms with brand new 034 Delrin bushings pressed in

wow thats actually a pretty good price, I’m not sure I can/should spend that money right now but I will let you know.

2bennetts prices dont change much and there stuff is usually readily available. take your time. I have them on my audi 90 20v and I love them

for sure, living off the money I made this summer has me tight until I start working again in the spring.

Well don’t spend too much now because it’s inevitable that stuff will break on this car. Like $400 PS pumps that like to eat themselves, or IAC’s, dry rot suspension bushings, or bruned CPS’s. The joys of an older abused five slug audi…

JVG’s control arms FS are good, I rebuilt them.

I think we may have some other duplicates of shit that he’s purchased three-fold over because he forgets the stuff is here already.

the 2bennetts are worth the money. If you end up getting the kit from Jon, drop the OE strut housings off at his place with the inserts when ready and I’ll do the necessary press/weld work to assemble them on the cheap.

so many people here jumping in on the 7a/aan quattros now.

Can i haz quattro battles tooooooo???

I hear my struts making noise…me not so happy.

snapped 2 terrible pictures of it in my garage looking real dirty, trying to reach a sensor but its in a real tight spot.

Just finished installing new thermostat, flushing thermostat. Hopefully issue is solved

034 turbo inlet pipe, and 2x transmission track density mounts arrived.

Track density, yikes!! Gonna be stiff for sure.

I have the billet track density is my 90 and they arent terribly bad at all. My VF mounts in my GLI were worse

:rofl yeah it’s going to be a huge difference from the way it sits now(with blown mounts) Just opened the box and they sent me a red pipe when I definitely ordered black, but I don’t really care what color it is so it’s going on anyways.

For just the trans or for the engine as well? 034 accidentally sent me one track density engine mount and it was damn near solid in comparison to the street.

I have all street densities in the S4 and they’re perfect so I went with all street for the 200. We’ll see soon how those are.

the track densities are basically solid delrin in the billet mounts. When I put those things in the 200, it was a fight to get the bolts all lined up and it as 034 machinist is a dope and couldn’t get things 100% right(they’ve gotten better though).

We put all four mounts in front. Damn drivetrain doesn’t move at all. the street densities though i think are just perfect. unless you’ve got some stupid tight clearances on a manifold or DP then I would stick with the SD’s

I need to finish that thing up now that jvg got all the parts he wanted/bought. just a bit more wiring and it should fire right up

GL on finding a single useful tool there! LOL you guys need to hire a shop maid!

This car is a freaking blast to drive!
