Project Super Mario: Question about SM2

Not really a project, just a silly thing I decided to do, which is to beat all the super mario games ever made. Just for the hell of it while I’m at work in between calls.

So, my Q is, should Super Mario 2 on Nintendo really count? If you go to WiKi, you can see it’s actually a rebandged game from Japan, and its totally different than any other Mario game. It also sucks.

What do you guys think, will I be able to say I beat every Mario game if I skip that one?

No. You must beat Mario 2. Throw those potion/door things around!!!

Turnips FTW

althought i must say it was a bitch of a game to beat.

seriously

man

mario 2 was a super bitch to beat…

Well, in the US it’s part of the Super Mario Bro’s series. In Japan it’s apparently not. So the real question is: Where do you live?

Glad to see people still set goals for themselves. :stuck_out_tongue:

really?

i thought it was a joke… maybe going through every level its tough, but through warps… its done in about 2 hours

super mario bros 3 > *

Technically since you are in the US

SMB 1
SMB 2 (A.k.a. Doki Doki Panic)
SMB 3
SMB Lost levels (A.k.a. Real SMB 2)

I’d say it counts as there are several modern mario games that make references to US Mario 2.

3rd ones hard to beat
The original mario can be beaten in under 12 minutes

I saw a nice video for under 7, I’ll link it if I still have it saved on my laptop.

I havent played Mario 3 in a while, I miss the Tanaka suit or whatever the heck it was.

its definitely possible to beat mario 1 in about 10 mins. take the warp from world 1-2 (use elevator to go above board before entering pipe at the end) to world 4… then take the warp from 4-2 (invisible ivy block to the sky) to world 8 i think? whatever the last one is. of course the levels there aren’t easy, but it is doable.

i thought mario 2 was good… sure a little different, but challenging in its own way.

I beat the first mario in about 10 min. Jumped over eeeeverything, used warp tunnels, never stopped for anything except to get firepower on the first board.

8-3 was hard till I just ran and jumped over the turtles before they can throw the first hammer.

5 mins 13 secs.

FYI, this is what im playing on, this pic was taken at home.

Technically…

Where is;

Mario Brother (w/o the “Super”)?
Donkey Kong?

Technically where is the end to those games?

Besides the thread is titled Project Super Mario, not Project Mario, or Project Plumber.

Good luck beating SMB The Lost Levels. Super Mario All-Star for SNES ftw.
