Proper insulation in the attic

any idea guys about doing around the attic opening
To access the 1st story attic you crawl in horizontally behind a door
To access the 2nd story attic you climb up through a closet
Both will be hard to insulate i think

for my access panel area, I got some pieces of fiberglass and rolled them out over the hole. That way if I open the access panel I wont get a ton of loose fill falling on my head. I also stapled a piece of the fiberglass to the top of the access door (its a piece of painted plywood). i also built up the sides of the hole with thin 1/4" ply to keep any loose fill from falling out. You just have to be careful climbing up there, or the 1/4" stuff would probably break off.

ah good idea
