question regarding talon/eclipse/laser: are they worth it?

Btw, my buddy has a red eclipse GS in PERFECT body condition, the body is imaculate, imported from the US, owned by one grandma and its still like 100 some km on it but… its the dodge engine the 2.0liter NA model…so…

The body though is IMACULATE…

Never EVER winter driven…

I hear the n/a 4g63 and the 420a equipped dsms are a waste of time if you want to go fast (although from the production numbers it seems 80% of them were n/a and ff…go figure)

Im really looking at the gsx / tsi awd variants.

And you guys got some good info there! Thanks

EDIT: Also wanted to know the availability of said gsx/tsi awds. How often do you find stockers (and i mean bone stock, not even boost controllers)? Do they come up every other day or are they something I should jump on as soon as i find 'em?

who actually knows what crank walk is and isnt just spouting what they’ve heard through the grapevine?

I’d listen to KoukiS14 he’s owned both.

There was something on magnus’ website about it having something to do with the oil squirters, the 2nd gens have them, but they get clogged and it messes up the oil pressure/flow.

Just get the Eclipse. The 240 doesn’t want you. 240sx is a piece of wood anyways.

talons could be really fast in terms of acceleration as far as i know…

right on. that turbo AWD shit can be a monster.

Lot’s of misinfo on this topic as usual.

Get your neighbours car.
1)93-94 are good looking cars.
2)They handle pretty damn well…ask Road Race Engineering (RRE) what a 1G Eclipse can do.
3) Power production…I’m gonna catch heat for this, but there is no better 4 banger that is readily available that the 6-bolt 4g63. The aftermarket is HUGE. Responds to home depot mods like no other…
This engine is BETTER than the Nissan units. No valvetrain issues, iron block and horribly overbuilt internals. It’s butter smooth unless you remove the twin balancing shafts (which is fine because you only get a mild buzz at 4100 ish rpm) which will net you a few ponies.
4) Quick in any weather and almost any traction conditions. Embarrassing expensive cars used to be a hobby for usm DSM lads.

Downside is there will be no drifting in your future.
IF you start making 350ish and doing 6 grand clutch drops with an ACT 2600…you will break sh*t.

Not EN VOGUE…so will not get mad hoochies who just saw Lil Bowowowow and Co driznifting thru da TK …yo.
