quick question

93 ls motor cable trans blah blha blah
93 civic hatch
can you change the speed sensor on the tranny to an electronic one? if so what do I need ot do? just buy the new sensor? from say a 94 integra ls? will it fit on the tranny?

Thx in advance!

anyone?

You can change to an electronic VSS if you want to, but it will require (some may argue this point) changing clusters too. Cable trannies have a speedo cable that connect to the back of the gauge cluster, and the cluster itself calculates speed and sends that data off to the ECU…so the VSS on the tranny is essentially a sending unit.

B and D series VSS’s are identical so they can be swapped, and the pinouts are the same as well.

Since you have a electronic cluster, and a cable-VSS tranny you can pick up any electronic VSS from another OBD1 honda and use it. Just wire it in, as if it were stock by comparing the wiring diagram for BOTH sensors…IIRC they may even be exactly the same.

OK thank you! i have a d series engine/ tranny sitting at the garage ill try and put that one in. THanks again!
