for those who missed, here is the low down… all race details by “session”
in the most contested race of the night, Blue vs. Bluemeanietsi… best out of 3. Just like on the web, this was a highly contested event.
round one,
the ford put the screws to the talon, going 1 up. The holeshot by the rwd car took the lead, and never looked back…
round 2 a,
the drama… w/ no “official starter”, the race was called a no descion. however, if we were following “chase is a race rules”, then Blue and the ford had the win…
round 2 B
the “official” 2nd race saw the dsm launch hard out of the hole, and never look back. The awd laid the tire, and the smack, down. The holeshot was the deciding point in this race, as neither car could pull on the other.
round 3— the final…
in the final round, no one knew wtf was going to happen… If kurt could launch hard, will he win? If Jay could keep tire spin down to a minimum, would he leave just as hard??? Well, the end result was Jay got the holeshot, and walked away w/ round 3’s win.
In other races,
1320’s nissan 240 came out to play. W/ the “good” tires on, traction was hoped to be held in check.
1320 vs. Bluemeanie— the nissan 240 laid the screws down from start to finish… In the dsm’s defense, after the 330 mark, he was out of it by 2 cars or so w/ no chance of reeling him in, so im sure some back peddling was done.
1320 vs. Blue — in a race of “who knows for sure”, anything could happen. Detroit’s supercharged v8 vs. japan’s turbo 4. Big gun vs. little— but whose bullet would kill?
1320 grabbed the holeshot, and from there, it was all sidemarker lights blaring down the “track” 1320 had desicivly won, but a 3 round main event is in the works…
1320 vs. dappie— single turbo 4 vs. twin turbo v8. Well, if 1 turbo on 4 cylinders is fast, then how about 2 turbos on a v8? in ricer world, that should mean twice as fast. Does this hold true?
When the flagman started, the crowd was expecting 1320 to open up a 1-2 car holeshot, based on dappie’s poor choice of kelly charger tires… However, a bog off the line kept the race extremly close, making for the best run of the night. The twin turbo stang and the 240 went neck and neck down the “track”, but the slim starting line edge by 1320 slowly walked into a 1/2 to 3/4 of a car win. This should make for an interesting race.
turbo vw vs kurt’s friend in the 1st gen awd dsm… in another race of no one knew wtf was going to happen, we had pitted the 1.8 liters of vw fury verse the famed 2.0 4g63. from the hole, the awd car was the expected favorite verse the street tired fwd vw. However, the vw took the early lead, and held it by the slimest of margins to the middle of his 3rd gear. But from top of 3rd and all of 4th, it was all dsm, which pulled past the vw, and settled for the 3/4 car win. A rematch was attempted, but aborted when it was discovered that the drag radials would not bolt onto the wheels because someone forgot the damn tools/lugnuts required. So until next time on this one…
and other races of the night-- quik and his street bike crushed all that he took on— which i belive was only dappie. WHen a race was setup between quik and one mean ass car, the fun was halted due to the man.
so until next time, so long, and drive safely…
