i know, they seem to be coming down in price…i dont mind the lens upgrades…i’m going that route eventually anyway, why not start now
Yeah, I am going that route too eventually…my current setup works perfectly for what i need right now. Maybe in a year or 2, when the D4 comes out i will jump on a D3X.
thanks for the heads up…
now why do you say this isnt even worth it?
well for one, normally you get(on the grip) the ability to adjust the shutter and F/stop, with the D70’s grip, there are no AF or wheels for that, basically its just a shutter release and thats all
and i’m pretty sure it will give you issues if you do use an IR remote, you might have to disconnect the grip(or at least move the transmitter that you have to tape over your IR sensor)
i think you should just buy my d80 body cheap…i’m about to click purchase on this D2x…
wish i had the extra cash to.
im about to pull the trigger on a 50mm f/1.8 and that grip.
50mm f/1.8 is a solid lens  I love mine
35mm f1.8 > 50mm f1.8
I haven’t used a 35mm, but I strongly suspect I would like it better than the 50mm. But still, I like the 50mm.
im sure this is true but right now im not in the position to drop 200/250 on just a lens when i can get a similar shot with a sub $100 lens…
its worth spending money on good glass.
honestly, save your money and get better glass. a d40 with a shitty lens looks like a d40 took it. a d40 with good glass will look just as good as a d90.
the shots from the 50mm are no worse than the 35mm. The 35mm has better usability. I struggle trying to get objects/subjects into the shot on the 50mm. That is about the only downside (that I know of) that makes the 35mm better than the 50mm.
the 50mm is good glass for the money.
its a prime nikkor af lens, not like im buying some off brand el cheapo lens.
all im saying is it has better value vs the 35mm imo.
I didn’t realize they were normally that pricey. I got mine for like $150.
ill buy it from you for $151.00
<3
I got my 50mm for quite a bit UNDER $100 if I remember correctly
