Rear Z Brake parts

besides the dealer, where else can i get some of the parts for the rear caliper, i.e. the metal spring that goes between the pins. And all the metal plates that go with the brake pads?

Go through us.

If youre doing this in to an s14 i also have an R33 ebrake cable in stock. which wil be a direct plug and play so u dont need to weld/clamp the existing brake cables together.

i already have all the rest of the parts, but i just need the small metal peices.

let me know what i’m missing. (here’s a list of what i’ve got)

front calipers - complete with pins and clips
rear calipers - needs clips (pins on order at dealer, but may need from you if not arrived in time).
z32 master cylinder
z32 e brake assembley
z32 e brake lines (from the 2+2 model - nissan listed 2 parts so i hope i got the right one, let me know if its not)
pads and rotors i got already.
conversion ss brake lines i’ve got already

Why not go through the dealer?

the E brake lines wont work. youre gonna have to clamp them on to the stock s14 lines. or if u get the skyline ones we have theyre direct plug and play

not in stock, no ETA date availible.

I need it by saturday for my brake swap, can’t take much more of driving around my friend’s beater.

You’re taking about the part that holds the pad in right? On the top?
That piece of metal?

yes… basically all i have right now are the calipers (bare) and the pads… no other hardware :frowning:

Mr. Skinny - PM me the price for the parts and the e brake lines… i can always return the parts at the dealer

i also need the pads and the hardware.

I have priced it all out and it aint cheap (if you need every single piece that is) plus for some reason I could not find the shoes anywhere but @ nissan “nothing @ napa or part source etc etc” and those alone were like $120.00

here is a shot of every part… if you would like all the exact part #s then just let me know

that’s the e brake assembley which i’ve already have.

I’m talking about the hardware for the rear caliper iteself (pins/metal spring/clips etc)

So you need a hardware kit, and that retaining spring.
Nissan says they don’t have anything?

44080-43P25- : Hardware Kit-Rear Disc Brake Pad
41090-43P00- : Spring

I’ll call my local guy and see what’s up.

EDIT: What’s the closest Nissan Dealer to you?

I think it’s weird that nissan would say that too…

What dealership did you check with? We should be able to have them here before saturday if you let us know asap.

i checked 401 & Dixie Nissan

they got me the ebrake lines and 2 of 4 pins… and thats it… it was weird, cause the diagram he showed me only showed one pin (which is why he only ordered 2)… even though i insisted on 4… and it didn’t show the peice of metal that goes into the pins to hold them in place… so yea…

anyways, how much for the parts? I will buy them for sure… (as long as they aren’t too expensive)

Guy was a retard, it says right on the parts software for those pins (assuming you mean the ones that hold the spring down) that there are 4 per vehicle.
Unless he figured that meant one per caliper. But the front’s use different pins.

Seriously that guy sounds like he has NO idea what he’s talking about.

yea, the fronts are longer than the rears right?

yea… the guy had no clue.

so if you guys have everything i need, im just gonna say to the dealer that I don’t need them anymore.

Well apparently my local place doesn’t want to pick up the phone.
I’ll keep trying, if it’s in the warehouse it will be next day, if not, it will be a week. I’ll let you know tomorrow.

Thanks!

i hope it doesn’t take a week, i’ve only got to get this stuff by saturday :frowning:

any used alternatives ?

ok, got a hold of a service manual online…

here’s what i need (the exact names of them)

4 x “Pad Pin”
2 x “Cross Spring”
2 x “Clip”

and all the shims and pad retainers…

here’s the useful link

http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=br&dir=&config=&refresh=&slide=16&cycle=off&scale=0&design=default&total=56

44080-43P25- : HARDWARE KIT-REAR DISC BRAKE PAD (this includes all of the pad hardware) One Per Vehicle
– $50 - Next Day (In Toronto)

41090-43P00- : SPRING (the piece of metal that holds the pads in) Two Per Vehicle
– $7 - Week Or More (Special Order)

41217-43P00- : PIN-PAD (the pins that hold the spring in place) Four Per Vehicle
– $12 - Week Or More (Special Order)

41218-43P00- : CLIP-PAD (the “clip” you mentioned) Two Per Vehicle
– $5 - Few Days (In Montreal - Not Toronto Warehouse)

Total: ~$122 + Tax

That’s everything you need, I don’t know why the spring and pins are special order. Looks like you are going to have to get a hold of someone who has Z brakes they aren’t currently using.
