Tried a search, didn’t find much… so here goes:
My father wants to buy a remanufactured long block AMC 2.5L Jeep engine, for a 1998 Jeep. He wants a long block because the engine in there now has 150+k miles, one grenaded piston/rod, and now has sat for over a year with coolant and oil mixed in the block. It’s a mess. He’s not sure if he should go to autozone, buy one on ebay, or find a independent local shop to source it from… anybody have any ideas what the best option is?

Jasper engines, near Batavia? A friend of mine got one from them, rebuilt/reman for around $1,100. This was a couple years ago.
Napa sells remans as well. Call around I am sure you could find someone willing to deal with you.
i bought my lt1 engine from some place … cant remember what it was called lol, but it came with a 3month start up guarantee. and i bought it for 400$ with everything, autozone wanted 1600$
