Hey, I need to fit my front rims and to do that would require some sort of pull. My question is, how much can the front fenders be pulled? I think I’m gonna need at least 35mm pull. Do you guys think that’s do-able?
I’ve searched and haven’t found any pics of S14’s with an extreme pull on the front fenders. I’m trying to stay away from front wide body fenders. Any input would be great. Also, if anyone knows of a shop or knows someone who can do this for me, that’d be great.
Here’s a pic to give you guys an idea of what I need. Keep in mind in the picture it’s stock springs and struts.
I know you said you dont want to but my suggestion is to run wide fenders or flares. Trying to make those fit on stock body is going to take alot of work, although im sure it can be done.
A 215 or 225 tire, ~3 degrees of camber and a large pull should do it, the pull will most likely need to have body work done too as the metal will probably start to ripple and look bad being streched that much.
thanks… that’s what i was planning… i’ve got 225 to go on… and plan on running somewhere along the lines of that much camber… a little touch up body work is fine… as long as i keep the stock metal fenders.
The wheels are work xsa02. What i need is a shop or someone who can do the pull for me, cause i’m no where near confident enough to try it myself… lol
18x9 -11?! Dont even bother ruining stock fenders because you arent going to fit that up front without over fenders. Even with a bunch load of camber those will be near impossible to fit.
You can give it to a shop and they can cut the fenders and add sheet metal to make them work but at that point you might as well invest into over fenders and sell your metal ones.
I’d say just try and find a set of widebody fronts that look as close to OEM as possible, rather than have it look like ass because you tried to pull it too far, and going through $300 tires like it’s your business 'cause your camber is so intense…
if u have rear overfenders u shuld get front wide fenders too…
x9 -10 did u get alignment yet?.. stock camber is like -1.5
thats awesome sizing jon… i loveeeeeeee it… keep it up sounds like ur car gna look hot this year compared to last year.
thanks for all the input… I kinda figured it’d be hard to fit these rims. But I’m gonna lean towards adding more metal onto the fenders instead of overfenders, unless someone knows of existing metal wide fenders. I just wanna keep my front fenders metal. I’m gonna call up this one shop and see what they charge for adding metal flares.
If any of you can recommend a “decent, affordable” shop please post up or pm me their contact info.
Alright guys… so I picked up some front coilovers from matty today threw em on. Also got my tires mounted for the fronts, and now it fits a little closer to flush I’d say. Lemme know what you guys think. I think I could get away with a pull with a fender roller.
Here are some pics… (keep in mind the car is still sitting on jackstands)
excuse the fuzzyness, didn’t have my digital camera tonight so had take cell phone pics.
i can understand the hate on fibre glass fenders they do suck… you often need to spend quite a bit of time to fit them, and depending somtimes the quaility is so bad htey never really do fit 100% the wasy they should… if a shop can make good metal fenders they are definately better…
2 of my cars have fibreglass fenders for eaze of fit mient i’d rather just go to stock ones, where possible
haha ya pete fo sho… bring a fender roller while you’re at it… bahaha.
ted… that’s my exact reason for not really wanting to go widebody front fenders. It’s not too bad now… wheel sticks out ~half and inch or so. So I think just a pull will do.
