Rollbar color

i might go to the shop after i write up this paper, and i’ll get some pics

Are you living in your car?

And  to the hammertone gray.

ya, my mom lost the tailor, and I had to live in my camaro last year.

ya fitting all the stuff is why I ordered the weld in rollbar, with the same “thu the speaker” rear bars the go off to the sides That the bolt in had. The 28x10.5 are a big ass tires, if I pull the valves out and deflate them one fits the T-top well, and the hatch barely closes… The other behind the hoop, But I changed them for the “over the seat” strait back rear bars for being stronger. But everything should still fit.
Turbo I’m not gona do a solid black, had it before and don’t think it gose with anything.

John has a hurst shifter…

My favorite of any of the pictures so far is the paint that just matches the interior color. You don’t want to show off your cage, you want to hide it as much as possible.

ya, no slivers, just wanted to put up the other hammer finishes I was finding.
But I think the hammer finish will hid the tube lines better, like realtree camo effect? I’ll have to test the hemmer gray, and hammer black(dark gray). To see what tone(?) matches the stock interior the best
found some more that looked good

too light

cool, ya post up how that works.

lack of interior doesn’t really do it justice, and i only had my phone on me but…

if you like the cage color in the SOM camaro you posted, this is essentially the exact same color. my phone just couldn’t capture the true color of it. and imo “flat” black goes with anything. it is subtle and clean. glossy is a little too gaudy for my taste. that SOM car you posted looks good, although the belt setup with those seats are a bad idea

ya, with the interior and a better camera will look better. You laid the hoop back alot, I like you removed the lower seat cushion brakets like I did. The carpet fits so much better after you do that

yea i’ll get some better pictures tomorrow. the hoop was way too close to my head for street driving. for the carpet, im going to get a new ACC black replacement. they are supposed to be the best OEM replacements. im not looking to lose weight there, i’d rather have it last and look good. i actually decided to have a guy who does carpets for us at work install my carpet. the price is well worth saving myself from the aggrevation, not to mention he is going to sew rings around the bars, as well as the slits to the sides. i will never get the carpet fitting as nice as he will, so that’s a no brainer for me. he also will do my seats if i end up with my stockers

The hammertone black is more like super dark grey, not really black. I used that on the undercarriage of the cavy, sprayed on lightly tho so it didnt actually hammer… heh

I think itd look good in your car. The others seemed just way too light. I recall trying them all when I was trying to figure out what to use.

Dan

ya, the hammertone black is black/gray so it looks like the dark gray shade Im looking for.
post some pics dan, that one is all I found that I knew was the rustoluem hammerblack, and there lighting didnt look that good.

I pulled a couple pics off my site. I never really spray the stuff on heavy enough to become hammered, but the color should be close.

Not sure my lighting is any better either.

Dan

Just went and bought 2 quarts of the Rusto Hammer Black with 3 small sponge rollers. I did all the prep last night and it came out nice. Going to acatone the bars and lay my frist coat down tonight. I’ll post pics after it dries.

Well. This stuff looks AWESOME. After the 2nd coat, I think it will be 100 times more durable with scratches. I’m really happy I went this route with redoing the paint. I cleaned a prepped everything and put the first coat on tonight. I bought a small pack of 3 sponge rollers that worked great and hit the little hard to reach spots with a brush. Please be aware, this paint sticks to anything is is hard to get off. Use gloves. That was a lessoned learned. If you have a 6 or 8 point roll bar, 1 quart will be enough. I bought two thinking I might need it. Below are the before and after pics. This is the black but looks grey.

After

And my shameless picture of the new MT 275/60/15

different… looks nice

my main hoop is friggen hugging my sail plastics, so it’s hard for me to get in there… kinda sucks.

but good job

that last door bar pic is what I was hoping, it matches the finish really well. have any finished outside pics?
Nice tires, I’m also rocking some big ass 28" mtdrs for street tires this year too.
