rotas anyone?

all the pics of the ones broken off, def look bent

things usually bend before they crack…i think its possible

look at the pic viper posted, the offset is wrong, must be bent…

hah i dunno, seems pretty unlikely - however if it was from the ring, maybe they got hot enough? Rota’s certainly blow cock in terms of quality so anything is possible :stuck_out_tongue:

heat COULD explain it. It would have to be pretty extreme amounts, but if it was a long session, it could be possible.

Stupid to run rotas in this situation though. A 500hp racecar on Drag Radials should NOT be running rota wheels.

lol try their new “pot metal” wheels

hahah holy fuck

so that looks pretty safe! can anyone do anything about it besides not buy them again or at all, seeing as this must happen enough times

Aluminum (/alloys) actually becomes less ductile with increasing temperatures.

in that case, I’m not buying it at all. It is BS

i don’t know much about metallurgy but was kind of waiting for someone that did to post about it - I kind of thought this was the case, and I still don’t see how that is possible…

depends on a lot of factors, but that is not a straight forward answer, could it happen, yes, did it? Who knows

EDIT: their website doesn’t even list material

EDITx2:  Linea Corse are made by Rota… wow I guess the latest BMW wheel trend is still shitty as hell

EDITx3: after some research they use MatWeb - The Online Materials Information Resource

lol at the people that think that could happen under acceleration…

the wheel design has just as much to do with it as the material or manufacturing process

It’s a very vague statement, yes.
