Knockoffs

Prime example… I was looking at different TE37 F/S threads and i found this thread:

Cliff notes:

Even more FTL is that fact that there debadged.

I want to see something like this, and not ebay junk.

How is that not eBay junk?

junk

Like anyone would care or not but I’m a king for spotting knockoffs. Volk Lug holes never match up equally with a spoke.

knockoff are the way to go in my mind . . . . who cares if you have the real thing or not… On the M I had REAL Ac Schnitzer wheels and the only way you could tell that they were real is on the back of the wheel it says made in Germany and has the AC badge on it… then a couple months later I found AC knockoffs for 1500-2000 less than the real ones and the only way you could tell they were not real was on the back

it all depends on what your buying some things knockoffs can pass for other things the lack of development, quality products, quality components that make up the component and R&D to certain parts like Suspension, Roll-Cages, Oil panscan lead to a catastrophic even. Some times wheels as well.

lol true

john sending you a PM

if you do anything more than just slowly cruise around in your car then knockoffs are a bad idea

there is a reason why the copies are cheaper. not just because its not a name brand.

just remember kids, don’t fake the funk

lol

They don’t match up to the spokes on the knock-off TE37s he posted :squint

6 spokes, 8 holes… that would be impressive if they did all line up, right?

two of the holes do match up, maybe thats what he’s talking about. idunno

yes he is, only one lug lines up with a spoke and thats how you know there fake

Those bashing rotas have never used them.

I’ve had no problems with my rotas P45Rs. I’ve hit a good number of pot holes, AutoX and drifted with them. No probs. The spokes are thick. I’m unsure of other models, like the torques? first off, they’re ugly, second those spokes are super thin.

The boosts in the second pictures seem like they’d be stronger… but maybe not. My theory would be since there are gold brembos it’s an sti and probably doing rallyX, which is hard on any wheel.

These guys also use P45Rs… so I’m not worried

In Europe rotas are much more prevalent.

*edit, although I’ll admit I don’t like the fact they’re copies of other wheel designs. I think that’s pretty weak. But for me I couldn’t find nismo LMGT4s even close to good sizes.

you never see a “real” wheel shatter like a rota or any other cheap knockoff, end of story.

daily driving in late Feb and March in the NE puts WAY more stress on a wheel than a pro drifter would on a smooth track

i mean those knock offs are universal 4 lug…u know there fake by that alone.

and yea i bash rotas and never used em. i know they shatter but thats not why i hate them, its because they don’t have an original idea in their head. all they do is copy popular wheels, make them with inferior technology and sell em for cheap.

and who will be the first to bring up hre’s…lol.

hahahahahahahahahahaha

I have sold Rotas and I have used a Rota in the past. I have also seen failures in person. I bet that low budget guy at Formula D 3 years ago wish he spent the money on a real wheel instead off a rota. I can t find and old picture of that car but that 240sx had the roll cage bent it cause the wheel snaped in half

don’t get it. y so funny?
