Knockoffs

when people actually drive their cars too the point of breaking a wheel, then they can complain about knockoffs

I’m not saying Rotas are even close to as structurally sound as many of their originals, however saying that the ‘Real’ wheels won’t break like a Rota is ridiculous.

This.

ever seen a volk/work/enkei shatter? I haven’t. “real” wheels will be able to withstand a TON more abuse than some shitty knockoff. You even admit it in your above post, but somehow still say my statement is ridiculous. You make zero sense.

edit: I’m in no way saying “real” wheels are indestructible

That seemed to be what you were saying to me, and yes I have seen OEM Enkei Lotus wheels, OEM Enkei evo wheels, OEM Forged BBS STi wheels, BBS RK’s, BBS RCs, crack or shatter from heavy impact, in fact there was a Viper Track day a few years ago where there were NINE indpenedant HRE failures throughout the day, even a manufacture defect as huge as the wheel itself being too small, and the wheel actually rotating inside of the tire!

I’ve had Rotas, had issues with them, sold them. Good riddens, but I don’t disagree with what they’re doing, who would? It brings nice wheels to people who can’t afford to drop $600+ per wheel.

Yup. WRC. And drift car wheels do undergo a lot of stress, they go off track a lot. purposefully “dirt drops” or just accidentally going off course.

The following are non-rotas used in racing

I do however disagree with what rota is doing. If they only did designs that are out of production then I wouldn’t care. But I mean… look at RS watanabe, Compomotives, Panasports, Konig rewinds… all the same design.

hitting a massive pothole at 60mph would probably be more destructive than sliding off the pavement a little, yeah… I think so. Tracks usually have a smooth transition from pavement to dirt to prevent accidents and damage.

yeah, so imagine if they used rotas instead? Day not ruined, but thanks for caring

True, potholes would put more stress on the wheel. But I’ve hit plenty with mine. So far no problems.

In the end, I’ll be happy with my rotas, you’ll be happy with your volks. I don’t see a problem.

paaalease sir, I dont have dough for volks, I have some cheapos myself, but I will not come out and say they are AWESOME! So far so good, but I do want to replace them.

drift wit these

Wasnt a thread about rims, I just wanna see what people have seen over the years as far as a Huge Name Brand Like Volk/Sparco/AEM/etc and have something as a knockoff to it. thats VERY similar in what the real product is.

98% of the Bride racing seats on ebay are fakes… Bride even put something up on their site a while ago about it…

Those “Vork TE37s” aren’t even close

then why did u post an absolutly horrible example that is not even close to the original?

LOL I know that’s probably the worst knock-off…the multiple lug holes give it away right off the bat…this is more of a knock-off to a TE37

The second one is pretty close

ravs —> rays
vork —> volk

And im sorry, your right worst example ever .

i like my rota’s maybe in a year or 2 ill get reall rims …

The worst knockoff I have seen has to be the Rota Beat
