heres the story. I was going to work and for the past couple of weeks i’ve noticed poor gas mileage. And every once in a while i would smell gas fumes as i exit my car. So i looked underneath and noticed something dripping… yep was gas. Anyways so what i did was figure out where the leak was coming from exactly, used rubber hosing and ring clamps. I’m going to use some rubberized undercoat spray and cover the whole thing up. Is this a good solution? Any suggestions?
replace the fuel lines with OEM lines…or braided stainless…do not mess around with fuel lines…
Thats what i want to do. The rubber was supposed to be a temporary fix, but it didnt work that good. Where can i get braided stainless lines? And what am i looking at in terms of cost for both OEM and stainless? And also what kind of labour is involved?
Note: I’ll be doing this myself in my driveway.
All help is greatly appreciated
for oem lines call nissan up…
braided stainless in 8an or 10an…will cost approx 8-10 per foot plus connectors
I had the pwr steering lines (2) replaced with new ones awhile back. Cost me $300 total, parts, install, and taxes. I checked to see what the other lines would cost too (fuel and brakes). Fuel they didn’t make anymore so they’d have to be custom made, and the brakes would be like ~$400 or so total. I could have these two mixed up (as to which aren’t made anymore) but you get the jist. Don’t do a patch job, it just delays the inevitable
^That one little bold word is why you paid so much. Do it yourself and learn something useful. I think when I was looking the S13 clutch hardline was like $20-30 new from Nissan. Other lines are probably a little more expensive.
don’t use stainless, earls makes a nylon line, same strength, lighter, and you won’t cut yourself when you install the new ends.
where can that earls be found? And is it suitable for fuel lines?
It is a fuel line, it’s supposed to be as good as stainless, but lighter and easier to work with. This is the hose i’ll be using when i start prep for the rb swap.

Thanks it never occurred to me to use aftermarket. I was just gonna go oem. But this makes more sense.
