I would plan a day for sanding the main area with the rented floor sander and another day for cutting in the edges by hand/small sander. If you need to fill any gouges or holes (if it was carpeted) that will add a day drying time.
I laid down the first coat of poly on my floor last night…final coat will go on tomorrow.
Looks good. I’m not going to go that dark, probably stay naturalish. There was carpet beforehand so definitely have to patch. The good thing is when I do it there will be nothing in the house, so I don’t have to move anything.
I just don’t trust myself doing this stuff even if I’m capable. So once I’m ready and IF you want to babysit me and drink some beer, stop over.
I had my floors redone with a stock min wax cherry color and satin poly on quarter sawn Oak wood. Looks a bit darker than natural but not too dark to show all the dirt and dust. Took a crew 3 days to complete 1300 sq ft of hardwood.
