School me on 914's

That black one is hot as hell. Are those flares non-stock?

If you’re willing to do bodywork, I say go for it. You never see those things anymore but I know they have a following. And following = parts supply.

i happen to really like them, but like everyone said before me when i was looking into them they all seemed to have a lot of rust issues. although a “decent” example can be had for like 3-5k it just depends how much time/work you want to invest in it. either way cool looking vehicle and not too many around here :tup:

The top one is meh. the second one rules, the third one is pretty rad.

looks like a boxy del sol

That’s only half right the 914/4 were sold as Volkswagen and the 914/6 were sold as Porsche in Germany.

:picard:
You are splitting hairs. I didn’t say 914 6. The 914 4 was just known as the 914 everyone knew it was a 4. (I was around back then:) my uncle had one)

It looks pretty nice but definitly not an M3.
Let Chris Bangle at it and see if he can ruin it.

the widebody is definitely the only way to rock that.

see my secong post… :meh:

your second post is null and void, if it was a Pontiac from the same time frame it would have a ton of electrical gremlins and be falling apart… or catching on fire.

This is my favorite post from a youtube vid:

The green flag drops @ 0:59 for those that don’t like pace laps;

That 914 is quick no doubt, it runs GT4/GT3 classes and has a nicely built motor in it. But the first lap he’s mostly against stock and stock prepared cars. Notice the Red 944 Turbo on the right there at the beginning that takes off? Roy Chong’s car, also a GT3 classed car.

There are definitely some crazy 914’s out there though:
