Searching who owns a domain name - Help

Some of you may have read in the post-gazette today, but one of my competitors is being sued for “Cybersquatting” on domain names to try and drum up business.

I did a whois search and it shows 13 names that start with A (the first letter of my company) but it won’t show the entire name of the domain.

I have an email address that all of these would be registered under, can anyone help me with how I would locate all of the domains registered under that email address?

Thanks guys.

I’ve never heard of searching by contact info. It is usually search by domain name or IP to get the contact info.

Did you try other whois services to get the full domain name?

I wasn’t aware there were other whois services. I just went straight to whois.com

Well I imagine they all eventually query the same place.

But others do it differently with different interfaces. GoDaddy and Network Solutions each do it. If you know (or can guess) one of the parked domains that might help too.

BTW - off topic - but check your PMs on BlazinLow or just PM me your address.

if they were smart, they would have registered it anonymously or through another company. i’m not that sure that cyber squatting is really a crime? I know they have the antisquatting acts and whatnot, but that’s usually for malicious use… although if the intent was to redirect traffic to their site, then sure… if they just buy the domain so you can’t own it, not sure.
